The difference or relationship between grinding steel balls and cast steel balls and forged steel balls

First, the difference in production process:

(1) Grinding steel ball (stainless steel ball, bearing steel ball, high carbon steel ball, carbon steel ball) production process:

Raw material (wire rod, round steel) – wire to wire drawing – cold heading/forging – ball (polishing) – heat treatment – improved grinding hard – - – research – at the beginning of flaw detection to the naked eye – lapping – cleaning – inspection – packing

(2) forging steel ball production process: raw materials round steel cutting Angle section – - – - ball rolling heating/ball forging screening — – — – — – – cooling quenching – tempering – cooling – packing

(3) cast steel ball production process: the ratio of raw materials – materials – intermediate frequency furnace smelting – die casting molding grinding – - – - cooling – packing heat treatment

Second, the difference in use

(1) Carbon steel ball, high carbon steel ball, bearing steel ball — bicycle, bearing, pulley, slide rail, crafts, shelves, universal ball, luggage, hardware, grinding

(2) Stainless steel balls — usually used for the removal and polishing of various hardware pieces, so that the workpiece can achieve a smooth and bright effect: copper, aluminum, silver and so on. In addition, steel balls can also be used to grind medicinal materials and chemical raw materials.

(3) Casting steel ball: good high temperature resistance, suitable for dry grinding, most suitable for cement plants

(4) Forged steel ball: strong corrosion resistance, suitable for wet grinding, mineral processing and other forged ball is more suitable.

3. Comparison of casting and forging

(1) In terms of wear resistance, the hardness of the high chromium ball (HRC≥60) after quenching and tempering is higher, which is more than 2.5 times higher than the wear resistance of the forged steel ball. According to scientific tests, the consumption of tons of raw ore balls of forged balls is more than 2 times that of cast balls.

(2) Low chromium casting ball has poor wear resistance, high crushing rate, low cost performance, and is not recommended. High chromium casting ball has good hardness and is a high-quality wear-resistant material, which has been widely used in cement dry ball mills, but the toughness of high chromium casting ball is poor, and it is easy to break in the ball mill with a diameter greater than 3 meters, and the price is high.
